No easel is required. Most people simply paint with the canvas flat on a table or desk in a comfortable, well-lit space. If you purchase the DIY frame, you can simply lay the canvas flat on a table to paint it, and frame it after the paint dries, or you can assemble the frame first and then paint it while upright on an easel. There is no right choice; choose the setup that feels most comfortable for you.

The finished painting area measures approximately 16 × 20 inches; the exact size of the paintable area is 40cm x 50cm. Large enough to make a beautiful statement on a wall, while still being comfortable to paint at a table or desk.

Many designs include some smaller areas to help the finished artwork look more refined. For those finer sections, simply switch to a smaller brush and take your time. If you normally use reading glasses for close-up activities, you may find them helpful.
